Due to the devastating wildfires that hit the area in August 2023, the climbing sectors are temporarily not accessible to the public for safety reasons.

Just ten minutes from the Evros Delta, there is a place dedicated to adventure lovers.

The village of Avantas hosts 6 organized climbing sectors of varying difficulty. Before visiting them, ensure you properly prepare and have the appropriate equipment. 

Which are the climbing sectors?

Megalos Vrachos

It consists of four (4) sectors, A, B, C and D. It has a north orientation and an altitude of about 160 meters.

Pergos (Tower)

It consists of four (4) sectors, A, B, C and D. It has a western orientation and an altitude of approximately 150 meters.

Agia Marina

It has a western orientation and an altitude of about 110 meters.

Family Park

It is a southern extension of the “Megalos Vrachos” field and consists of two (2) sectors, A and B. It has a southeast orientation and an altitude of approximately 130 meters.

South Wall of Megalos Vrachos

It has an eastern orientation and an altitude of about 130 meters. The quality of the specific area is quite good, and the access to the rock is short and offered for all seasons of the year.

Spilia (Cave)

Έχει δυτικό προσανατολισμό και υψόμετρο περίπου 250 μέτρων με έντονο ανάγλυφο και είναι ιδανική για αναρρίχηση υψηλής δυσκολίας.
