In winter, a vast sea, a sea hairy from the tips of reeds and straws that remain outside the water. All walking life stops. It exists only in the air. Millions of flies of every genus and species – panspermia – find their joy in that vast sea.

The Management Unit that lives in the Evros Delta

The executives of the Evros Delta and Dadia National Parks M.U. are located in or around the delta to protect biodiversity and preserve habitats 365 days a year.

Environmentalists and foresters staff the Unit. At the same time, through projects and networks, it collaborates with several scientists and experts, in and out of Greece, on management and research issues.

It has been organizing actions that aim at the scientific research of protected areas, the promotion of natural wealth and the public’s environmental awareness since 2005.

Unit’s staff ensure to answer the questions of young and old visitors, making learning part of the exploration.

Through the programs the Unit organizes and implements, you can learn about the values of protected areas and their feathered inhabitants, discovering their characteristics.
